Airline Apps - System Updates

We are constantly seeking to improve our system for both applicants and recruiters.  Historically, our pilot data collection and recruiter focus was oriented to multi-engine, commercial backgrounds or higher.  Because we now have companies with additional needs (i.e., single-engine, helicopters, seaplanes, etc.), we will soon be releasing the first of two updates.

The first release is an upgrade to the Certs & Ratings section for applicants.  A video demonstrating the new applicant upgrade can be viewed by clicking below.

Certs and Ratings

This update will allow pilots to enter their license, privileges, type ratings, and limitations information exactly as it appears on their printed license.  While pilots will have the option to enter past licensing dates and information, this update will allow upcoming and progressing pilots to enter licensing milestones as they reach them.

The printed application format will now mirror the results from an FAA Airmen Inquiry search.

Additionally, it also captures (a) where the flight training was received and (b) what type of fight training was received (i.e., Part 61, 141, Military, etc.).  However, until an applicant updates their application, the old application format will continue to display until the applicant re-enters their certificates.

Industry Outlook

The news of furloughs, downgrades, and WARN notices has rippled across the industry.  Combining that with cargo impacts and aircraft supply chain issues, we’ve witnessed the recently unprecedented pilot hiring and momentum shift.  That pilot leverage has, at a minimum, shifted back toward neutral, if not back toward employers in some instances.

These events, increasing the available pilot applicant pool, have therefore ushered in a historically familiar side-effect of available positions returning to a more competitive selection process.  There has always been a difference between "hiring minimums” vs “competitive minimums,” but that span has been drifting back toward historic norms.

With that, we wanted to reach out to pilots affected by industry shifts and remind you this is a perfect time to dust off that application and update your information.  Because recruiters can now afford to be more selective, ensure your application reflects your most recent experience.  Additionally, many of our affiliated carriers’ pilots are represented by ALPA, and some of those companies are giving special consideration to affected ALPA pilots.

Ensure you’re putting your best foot forward!

Finally, there are some additional features on our development roadmap specifically designed to assist pilots in finding employment.  This will greatly expand an applicant’s employment potential.  We will provide more details as the release of those updates nears.

As always, please reach out directly to our support staff with any questions.
